I keep dreaming about houses. Houses with trees, tall and dark, reaching into the sky. Trees older than me and my dreams of houses.

I saw a photo years ago, it looked just like this painting. The woman was kayaking at sunset on her commute home from work. I looked at my life and felt like I’d missed something crucial. I’m on a different track in a nice new house with no trees. Trees younger than me, and my dreams of houses.
